Nowadays, we tell people that they can work for 30 or 40 years and then retire to a comfortable lifestyle after a lifetime's work.

Another terrible lie. Everywhere in the world, not just in a German concentration camp. Deflation and depression will destroy all savings not in specie. That is Latin for "in kind" ie objects that are useful for barter. Or use which amounts to the same thing. The world financial systems have been subverted. Perhaps not in all countries but in most. Fiat currency. And venal controlled governments that are corrupt.
