Fishing from oceans

Many of the world's poor and rich enjoy fish. There is a crisis in supply of the usual fish eaten that can only get worse.

A modest proposal to redress the losses: A levy on all ports. The proceeds to fund fish farming of cod etc to replace the supply that was once abundant. The farms to be all over the world, with those who fish taking the young out to be harvested later.

Given the way we pollute our seas, those species that do not take up heavy metals to be favoured, so that we do not poison ourselves with mercury, uranium etc.

The accumulation of mercury may be a reason for the grounding of whales.
